The CirCLER consortium has completed the development of all training contents within the CirCLER training course for Circular Economy Transition Managers (CETM): Leading the Circular Shift in the Furniture Industry.
This achievement represents an important step in CirCLER’s mission to enhance circular and sustainable skills in the furniture and woodworking sectors. The partnership has designed and validated a comprehensive Joint Curriculum that bridges Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education (HE), providing a coherent European framework to prepare professionals capable of leading the circular transition.
The CirCLER training course prepares professionals for the emerging role of the Circular Economy Transition Manager (CETM), a profile designed to guide companies towards sustainable, resource-efficient and innovative business models.
It is structured in three qualification levels, aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

The final training package combines theory and practice through 50 learning pills, complemented by videos, case studies, interviews, podcasts and interactive exercises. These pills are distributed across 10 thematic modules, each focusing on a specific dimension of the circular transformation. Together, they contribute to a set of microcredentials covering the main areas of the transition towards circularity: circular economy principles, legislation, voluntary instruments, business models, circular design, sustainable materials, manufacturing processes, enabling technologies and strategic management for circular transition.
The completion of this extensive training content reflects the collaborative effort and expertise of universities, research centres and industry partners from across Europe. The materials will soon be showcased through CirCLER’s dedicated e-learning platform, offering open and innovative resources to professionalise Circular Economy Transition Managers in the furniture sector.
