As the CirCLER project moves into its final months, ahead of its conclusion in January 2027, it's a good moment to look back at what has been achieved so far — and what's still to come.
What's happened so far
Over the past months, the CirCLER team has turned circular economy ideas into practical tools and real experiences. Following testing by almost 1,000 learners, the project's online learning platform and training materials have been improved to make them clearer and easier to use. New video tutorials and hands-on activities have been added to help people engage directly with circular design concepts. A trainers' mobility took place in Italy, with the involvement of all partners in both practical and theoretical activities.
On the ground, several "Circular Furniture Labs”, practical workshops exploring circular design and production and online webinars focusing on the role of women in the circular transition, have already taken place online and across partner countries. These events gave designers, makers and students the chance to experiment with circular economy principles first-hand, and learn from past experiences.

What's coming next
The next few months will be the most active yet. Later this month, the CirCLER Hackathon kicks off. This is an intensive challenge in which students will team up with real furniture companies to design fresh, circular solutions. The winning ideas will be presented in mid-November.
In October, the project will host its third and final webinar dedicated to women working in circular design and eco-design, open to anyone interested in the topic.
The highlight of the calendar is the international and hybrid CirCLER Final Conference, taking place in Barcelona on 3 and 4 November. Hosted by AMBIT, it will bring together the whole partnership to share results and discuss how circular furniture practices can be spread further with the help of an international keynote speaker.
Alongside the conference, partner countries will continue organising local events to bring circular economy ideas to wider audiences, and the project's training resources will be finalised and made fully available.
