This report presents the results of a multidisciplinary identification and validation process involving more than 160 European experts.
This report is the first concrete output of the CirCLER project and focuses on the results of an extensive exercise carried out by the CirCLER partners. It identifies the knowledge, skills and competences required for the new job profile: the Circular Economy Transition Manager of the furniture sector. It can be downloaded from https://circler-furniture.eu/en/downloads.
The process involved several stages. The first was a joint desk research among the partners based on their direct knowledge, previous projects and studies focusing on the knowledge and skills gaps related to the circular economy in the furniture sector. During the second step, the results of this process were evaluated and validated by more than 160 European experts in different complementary fields such as CE, furniture sector and VET system. In the third stage, these results were again discussed and validated in an international workshop involving more than 30 experts with complementary expertise.
The report clearly presents the key areas of competence that this new professional profile will need to successfully manage the transition to a more circular economy within companies in the furniture sector. It forms the basis for several of CirCLER's future activities, in particular the definition of the Circular Economy Transition Manager curriculum and training toolkit, which will be developed by the partners over the coming years. All these outcomes will target sector workers and students from vocational education and training as well as higher education through different customisable outcomes.
